Blobbysitters

Two-Player co-op Puzzle/Adventure

Experience the thrill of cooperative gameplay with Blobbysitters, a game designed to challenge your problem-solving skills! As the lead game designer for this capstone project, I worked closely with my team to ensure the game’s core mechanics were engaging and achievable within our deadline. With input from my team leads, we developed a gameplay experience that requires players to work together to remove obstacles from the path of a tiny Blobling on its way home. You’ll have to use your wits and quick reflexes to grab, toss, and obliterate objects without endangering the baby!

I collaborated closely with our lead programmer during the production phase to fine-tune the game’s mechanics. I carefully balanced the walking speed of the Blobling and the players to create a gameplay experience that is both challenging and fair. The game also features two powerups that add an extra layer of excitement to the gameplay – an individual speed boost and an annihilation beam that destroys any object in its path. These powerups are scattered throughout the map, waiting for you and your teammate to find them.

As the game designer, I was also involved in designing and balancing the game’s core mechanics. We used Jira to track our progress and bugs throughout development. In addition, I created art assets and animations using Maya. I worked on everything from benches and buildings to obstacles you’ll encounter in the game. I created custom animations for the Blobling’s walk, death, and the B.O.T.S grab-and-throw actions, bringing the game to life.

Blobbysitters is a fun and challenging game that requires teamwork, problem-solving skills, and quick reflexes. As the lead game designer, I am thrilled with the outcome and hope you enjoy the experience as much as we did creating it.
