Redneck Repair is an impressive game that my team and I developed during a game jam weekend. This challenging puzzle game requires players to fix pipes by selecting the correct tool and climbing a ladder to reach them. The game has a unique grid system, similar to Connect 4, that limits the player’s movements and adds extra difficulty.
In Redneck Repair, players must also contend with a mischievous flying goose that tries to knock them off the ladder and slow them down. The game’s time constraints further add to the challenge, as players must complete their tasks quickly and efficiently to succeed.
Despite the tight deadline, I prioritized the game’s core mechanics, player and goose speed and balanced them effectively. To bring the game’s vision to life, I created low poly art assets and animations that perfectly complemented the game’s art direction.
In closing, I’m satisfied with the outcome of Redneck Repair. It showcases a working vertical slice of the game’s visual and core gameplay elements, enough to give viewers a good understanding of the gameplay.
